Accounts Supervisor (6 mth contract)

Full Picture Recruitment are proud to be hiring on behalf of a reputable and highly customer-oriented business on the south coast.

The successful candidate will be working within a close knit team, directly alongside the Finance Director, to maintain the current output and achievements of the Accounts department, and assisting with project work during the transition between business structures.
In addition, you’ll be involved in matters connected to the year end audit and preparation of figures for Annual R&D tax claim.

You’ll be working at the centre of the business, liaising across most departments, so you’ll need to be a confident communicator with great organisational skills.


Key responsibilities will be:


Management Accounts (Sage 50 Cloud)
Timely preparation on a monthly basis – including all commentary and analysis before handing to the Finance Director for sign off.

Skills required:

Understanding of purchase and sales ledgers
Assistance with the posting of purchase ledger transactions
Understanding of VAT and the various rates of VAT
VAT reconciliations
Posting of month end journals (prepayments, accruals, depreciation)
Bank reconciliations
Intercompany reconciliations
Manual reconciliations of other nominals resulting in scheduled out contents of nominal codes
Use of Sage to prepare basic management accounts
Ability to review and comment on a P&L account


Payroll (Sage 50 Payroll)
Responsible for the processing of payroll data with commentary again for sign off by the Finance Director.

Compiling a master spreadsheet with adjustments from individual department submissions.
Entering final details in Sage 50 Payroll
Uploading data to Scottish Widows portal for pensions submissions, and undertaking manual checks for accuracy
Understanding of SSP, SMP, MAT pay, attachments of earnings and similar deductions.


Desired but not required:

Understanding of tax rules around entertaining
Understanding of tax treatment of share purchases and sales
Experience with personal tax returns
CIMA or ACCA qualification
Experience of company forecasting for valuation purposes.

Strong Excel skills are also highly desirable, ideally a good working understanding of pivot tables, IF statements, and VLOOKUP statements.
